Sneak Preview of new iSENDu interface

August 14th, 2009 by Martin No Comments

We have put a lot of effort into the redesign of iSENDu. To give you an impression about our work, we want to share our current design for the main iSENDu icon. As you see in the picture of the new main icons, we kept the original idea and moved away from “iPhone-type” symbols. Instead, we introduced an abstraction that represents the peer and which hopefully does not raise Apple’s

again.

We will continue our work during the weekend and post videos of our design process and early prototypes during the next days. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend!

A rounded black rectangle…

… and a white rectangle is an iPhone. At least according to the employee that reviewed our application at Apple. We have already a fix for this problem and decided not to use a rounded black rectangle with a white one in it. Because that is way too much iPhone. We are submitting the changes later this week and hope that our application gets the approval this time.

These were the corpora delicti which prevented our application from being accepted by Apple:

Beware of delays

The first middle name of all technical projects is delay.  After having submitted iSENDu to Apple last Monday, we received a reply by Apple telling us that iSENDu was being rejected due to trademark infringements:

Apple Logo and Apple-owned Graphic Symbols:

You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a reseller agreement.

The full text can be found here: Trademark Guidelines

We are working on a fix for the problem and keep you updated about further developments. In the meantime, you can read about other developers having similar problems here:

Pano rejected over new icon… *sigh*

Apple says one of Adobe Photoshop’s custom shapes is an Apple trademark image

Rejected.
